Welcome to Coon Rapids Cardinal Little League

OUR STORY

In 2014, Coon Rapids National and Central Leagues agreed to join forces.  Little League International granted our request and we have been able to merge and form Coon Rapids Cardinal Little League. 

CRCLL is a Little League that provides competitive baseball opportunities for all youth ages 4-12 years old in Coon Rapids and sections of Anoka and Fridley.

We are dedicated to teaching strong fundamentals at all levels of play, developing a strong community, and providing players the tools they need to advance to other levels of baseball. 

Most games and practices are scheduled during weekday evenings. Effort is taken to limit weekend games, leaving time for you to enjoy your families and Summer.

Minors and Majors divisions will play games in nearby Metro Areas. Home games are held at Riverview Park fields. Practices are held at Riverview and local elementary school and park fields.  Kids are placed in divisions based upon age, registration numbers, and potentially skill level following evaluations.

We are a community league that believes in not only having fun while playing baseball but taking steps to create a stronger, safer, and healthier community.

Our league follows the guidelines of the Little League Rules and Regulations and our Board of Directors are volunteers voted into position by our league members.

WHAT IS LITTLE LEAGUE?

Little League is a competitive form of baseball dedicated to teaching strong fundamentals at all levels of play. Most games and practices take place during the week. There are some weekend games.  

Majors and Minors divisions play games against other cities in the metro area, which may require some travel.  Nearly all of the cities are located in the Metro area suburbs.  Little League offers players a chance to earn a roster spot on tournament teams at the end of the year extending the season for those who are selected as All Stars. 

It is important to know that CRCLL differs from park and rec community baseball, as it is a much more competitive form of play. Our main focus is to develop strong baseball foundations, while always allowing options to play for all kids who want to join.

We are 100% run by a volunteer board of directors and coaches. We own our fields at Riverview Park and operate independently of the city and parks. We are a non-profit organization, and  hold the charter of an Official Little League program. 

Teams are constructed in manner to offer a level playing field and maintain competitiveness. 

The Regular Season Begins the First Saturday in May and Regular Season Teams play until mid-late June

Tournament Teams/ All Star Teams play July-early August
