AA BALL
Players and coaches involved in AA Division focus on improving basic baseball skills while developing basic teamwork and understanding of the rules and roles in game situations. The league is focused on providing experience in a fun environment. The goal is that players develop skills to play at the Lower/Upper Majors level.
The AA Division is designed for 8 - 9 year old players, as well as the most advanced 7 years olds with a minimum of one year in A Division.
Advanced 7 year old players are eligible to to try out for AA Division evaluations. A 7 year old will only advance to AA Division if evaluation ranking is in top 5 of AA Division and the player is drafted, evaluated age 7 players who go undrafted will be placed in A Division. Without pre-season evaluation, a 7 year old is ineligible to advance to Minor level for season.
Overview
• Ages 7-9 (highest skilled 7 year olds, 8-9 year olds)
• Regular attendance expected
• Practices/games total 3-4 times per week
• Team rosters determined by Player Agent & League Coordinator
• First level of player pitch
• Inning ends after 4 runs or 3 outs, the 6th inning allows for unlimited runs. Run limits may be adjusted upwards upon coaching agreement
• Game ends with 6 innings, 2 hour time limit, or 10 run rule
• Near equal playing time and position rotation. Continuous batting order in place, no player to sit more than two innings per game
• 11 person team rosters with 10 fielders
• Youth umpires used when available. Otherwise defer to umpire selection process as defined in AA Division rules
